Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Studio 16.1.0: A Revolutionary Editing and Grading Software
Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Studio 16.1.0 is a major update that adds a new cut page, 8K editing, neural engine, GPU scopes, faster Fusion, 3D audio and more. It is a professional software for editing and grading high-end video projects, with support for multiple GPUs, HDR, stereoscopic 3D and immersive audio.
The new cut page is designed for editors who need to work quickly and on tight deadlines. It features a streamlined interface and innovative tools such as source tape mode, dual timeline, smart indicator, sync bin and boring detector. The source tape mode allows editors to view all the clips in a bin as a single long tape and quickly find the shots they need. The dual timeline shows the entire program and the current work area at the same time, allowing editors to move and trim clips without zooming or scrolling. The smart indicator shows where edits or cuts will be placed based on the position of the mouse. The sync bin shows all the clips from different cameras that have metadata matching the current shot in the timeline. The boring detector highlights parts of the timeline that lack edits or have long gaps.
The neural engine uses deep learning and artificial intelligence to power new features such as facial recognition, speed warp and object removal. Facial recognition analyzes clips and automatically creates bins based on the people in each shot. Speed warp retimes clips with optical flow processing that preserves image quality even when slowing down or speeding up footage. Object removal automatically paints out unwanted objects with a simple stroke.
DaVinci Resolve Studio 16.1.0 also improves the performance and functionality of other pages, such as edit, color, Fusion and Fairlight. The edit page has new adjustment clips that can apply filters and effects to multiple clips at once, new stacked timelines that let editors work on multiple timelines simultaneously, and new keyboard customization that gives editors more control over their workflow. The color page has new GPU accelerated scopes that provide more accurate measurements, new HDR grading tools that support Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and new Resolve FX plugins for adding vignettes, drop shadows, chromatic aberration and more. The Fusion page has a faster performance with GPU acceleration, new shape tools for creating vector graphics, new paint tools for cloning and healing, and new planar tracking for tracking surfaces in 3D space. The Fairlight page has a new immersive 3D audio engine that supports Dolby Atmos, Auro 3D and SMPTE ST 2098 formats, new elastic wave audio retiming that stretches or compresses audio without changing pitch, and new loudness meters that comply with broadcast standards.
DaVinci Resolve Studio 16.1.0 is a powerful and versatile software that can handle any video project from start to finish. It is available for download now from the Blackmagic Design website. 061ffe29dd
